Upon clicking the checkbox, Firefox will ask to restart the browser. Check the box beside Always Use Private Browsing Mode. With Custom Settings selected, look beneath the drop-down menu. I know Firefox focus would solve this issue, but I like having bookmarks and tabs, so Firefox focus is not a viable option. This prevents the browser from caching any data (cookies, temporary files. I guess there was some kind of update, but now Firefox is only opening in a normal tab everytime.
